NPR has posted this interesting little look into the economic impact, both positive and negative, of the 1996 Summer Olympics on the city of Atlanta. The broadcast begins with the announcement of the selection of Atlanta over Athens to host the 1996 Summer Olympics and goes on to state that it "launched more than $1 billion of construction projects, from Olympic venues to housing for the athletes." The audio broadcast is included along with the article and at only 5 minutes long it's worth a little listen: http://goo.gl/ofELD
